Subtests

  • Word Reading: Assesses untimed letter identification and word recognition. Examinees read aloud a list of letters and words.
  • Sentence Comprehension: Evaluates the ability to derive meaning from words and comprehend ideas within sentences using a modified, untimed cloze procedure.
  • Spelling: Measures the ability to write dictated letters and words with no time limit.
  • Math Computation: Assesses basic numeracy, including counting, number identification, oral problem solving, and written calculation, under a time constraint.

Composite Score

  • A Reading Composite score is derived by combining standard scores from the Word Reading and Sentence Comprehension subtests.
